Hammonds Plains is a community situated on Highway 213, which is the secondary road that runs between Bedford and the Head of St. Margarets Bay. Highway 213 intercects Highway 103, which is the highway from Halifax to Yarmouth. Many residents of the Hammonds Plains area will take Highway 103 from Halifax and use Exit 5 to access their homes in one of the many subdivisions located along the Hammonds Plains Road.
